Today we celebrated my son's Birthday! He wanted a dragon theme this year and it turned out to be my best party ever! When the guests arrived, I sat all the kids down in a circle and had them design their own Coat of Arms, using homemade shields out of cardboard and tin foil. We used barbeque skewers to etch our unique designs. Then we were ready for dragon training! Before the party I set up an obstacle course. They had to jump through the tires, over the "river" and climb through a "cave." At the end each child got a peanut butter cup. We played until the peanut butter cups were gone. I sat everyone down in a circle again and explained that dragon training had been completely and that they all were worthy of knight hood. I knighted them using a foam sword and then sent them hunting for dragon eggs! Inside each was a tiny baby dragon that each child got to take home. Then we slayed our pinata dragon and ate it's candy insides. After this we were ready for cake and presents. While I was preparing the plates, I had the kids color their own dragon which I then flew by taping the colored dragon onto a helium filled balloon string. To finish the party, we played "no dragon's out tonight." And then everyone went home. Ryker went to sleep happy and kept telling me over and over, "best birthday EVER!" Here are some pictures of the event.....
